Equine Time Sessions
What is Equine Time? A program designed to provide a variety of non-mounted Therapeutic Equine Assisted Activities for children, youth and adults in need.
Who Can Book A Session? Our program is open to individuals who are facing challenging life circumstances, whether it be emotionally, spiritually, physically or financially. A few examples of those who could benefit from our program are: Individuals experiencing high stress jobs or family situations. Those who have been through trauma. Those struggling with anxiety, feelings of depression, self worth or feelings of loneliness. Families in need of finding a positive, fun, educational activity for their children.
What To Expect Each participant is paired with a horse or mini horse for a one hour session in the peaceful setting of our sanctuary. Sessions with our mini horses are called "Mini Sessions" and they offer the same healing benefits as the big horses do, so adults may request a "Mini Session" if they'd like to. Activities can include grooming, all around horsemanship and ground skills, barn and farm chores, playing games or simply sitting and observing horse and herd behavior.
How To Book A Session Sessions are by appointment only & can be booked online. Click on the Book Online Tab.
An Application and waiver must be completed and signed by anyone wishing to participate. A waiver is also required for parents/guardians, and anyone visiting the Sanctuary for any length of time.
Once we receive your completed application and waiver, we will confirm your session..
Session Days:
Wednesday - Saturday, except during special events.
No equine experience is necessary, only a willingness to learn and participate. While we strive to accommodate as many participants as possible, there are a limited number of weekly sessions available.
Cancellations
We ask that you kindly give us 24 hours notice, if you need to cancel a session. Arriving more than 15 minutes late may result in needing to reschedule your session.
What Do Sessions Cost?
Sessions are free of charge. Our sanctuary operates entirely on the generosity of volunteers and donors.
A Few Things To Take Note Of:
*We are not a riding facility.
*Our therapy horses are rescue horses who have gone through trauma; they've been rehabilitated and receive on going training in order to be able to participate in our program.
*We are not professional counselors or licensed therapists. *We operate as a Christ centered organization sharing the love of Christ by putting our faith into action.
*Donations are greatly appreciated and go directly to support our rescue horses and Equine Time Program.

"A relationship with a horse can provide love to a heart that feels unlovable, and can go where no human being is allowed to enter—inside that wounded heart. When a child learns of a rescued horse’s painful past, he is stirred with compassion, relating to the sorrow he feels in his own life. One of the greatest steps to healing is reaching out beyond ourselves to others. A horse can be the first step." Kim Meeder -Crystal Peaks Youth Ranch
